Ruben Amaro told Ruiz he will try and bring him back. But, honestly, that’s probably not a good idea.

God. RAJ is making it really hard to stay a fan right now.

They better not resign this stiff

today Chooch is for the first time, “not-so-happy”

  • blue89 September 30, 2013 at 1:19 pm

    Sad times

Ruben would be foolish NOT to bring Chooch back. Most of the free agent catchers are either older than Ruiz and/or lefthanded, and the situation down on the farm is even worse as Tommy Joseph struggled with concussions, Sebastian Valle fell off the face of the earth and Cameron Rupp looks to be a younger version of Erik Kratz. Right now, the best option is Ruiz, at least for another year. Beyond 2014? Who knows.

    Sign the catcher from Atlanta

    • ThePhillyFlash September 30, 2013 at 1:34 pm

When last I checked, Atlanta was in the same division as the Phils, so the chances of the Braves letting McCann slip out the door to sign here are none and less than none.

I agree, although it would be such a Ruben move to sign Brian McCann to a 6 year contract worth way too much money, I would love to bring chooch back on a 2 year/$7-10 million contract. We dont need another lefty and there really is not another option. Chooch is the best option for the money.

McCann can’t catch everyday …he’s looking to move to 1st base …he’s a LH bat…wants money ..bad fit for Phillies …ideal for American League

    Re-sign Chooch for 2 years. It’s a no-brainer.

It would give one of the minor league catchers time to be ready for the starting gig.

I like Kratz, but I’m think it might be best to give Rupp a shot to be the back-up. Maybe he will grow into being Chooch’s successor behind the plate.

chooch is cooked. I would bring him back as a backup only

Thanks Choooooch for everything, especially the post game pressers, no idea what the fuck you were saying, but it was the stuff of legend!

Sign McCann, the Phillies and all of the slop out on the field this year played themselves into a top 10 protected pick, meaning they can throw money out at any top free agent and not lose their pick. Do it!

Bring up and START Maikel Franco out of Spring Training, young RH power bat 3B with a ton of potential, keep Asche as a platoon along with Ruf.

Sign Nelson Cruz, this roid using fuck will come cheaper than trading the entire farm, literally, in order to get Stanton, who will never be traded to the Phils.

Sign Mike Morse and Omar Infante for added depth and bring in a nice bullpen piece and sign a good 3 or 4 pitcher and let’s get this shit going!

I realize while writing this that RAJ will absolutely do none of these things to help the team….but fuck it, just a thought

The lineup would be tits if they actually did this AND praying the key pieces stay healthy

    Revere CF
    Utley 2B
    Rollins SS
    Howard 1B
    Cruz RF
    Brown LF
    McCann C
    Franco 3B

    Bench

    Ruf
    Asche
    Hernandez
    Morse
    Infante
    Rupp
