How about: Just Come Back Next Year, OK?

How about: Just Come Back Next Year, OK?

Gotta hand it to the Sixers’ marketing department (really)– two of their upcoming promotions are pretty unique, funny.

The first 76 fans to buy single-game tickets today (and, since it’s only about 3:10 in the east, there’s still time left!) will have their name put on a customized Together We Build billboard:

The Philadelphia 76ers today announced that they will create personalized “Together We Build” billboards for the first 76 fans who purchase single game tickets tomorrow, October 8, starting at 10:00 a.m., when all single game tickets for the 2013-14 regular season go on sale.

“As the Sixers wrap up their trip to Europe and head back to Philadelphia to prepare for opening night, we recognize the integral role fans play in creating our home-court advantage at the Wells Fargo Center,” said Sixers CEO Scott O’Neil. “We take building together literally – fan by fan, game by game – and hope these billboards begin to show our appreciation and support for Sixers fans in a memorable way.”

The first 76 fans who purchase single game tickets will receive a photo of their billboard from the team. The billboards will be in rotation with other Sixers advertisements throughout the week.

And then on February 5, against the Celtics – another team doing their best to not win any games this season – fans will receive a BOGO for Mega Millions:

The Pennsylvania Lottery will present the Sixers home game on Wednesday, February 5 when the team hosts the Boston Celtics at 7:00 p.m. The first 15,000 fans in attendance will receive a buy one get one free coupon for Mega Millions tickets.

That’s right– the Sixers are having a lottery promotion for their game against a team they’re vying to beat out in the lottery. Brilliant.
