Nerlens Noel Will Likely Miss the Entire Season

I love this. The Sixers aren’t even pretending that they’re trying to win basketball games. First rounder Nerlens Noel, who is recovering from a torn ACL, likely won’t play this year:

According to’s Dei Lynam, head coach Brett Brown said before the Sixers-Cavaliers preseason game on Monday that Noel, recovering from a torn ACL, probably won’t play this season.

Hilarious. Recovery from a torn ACL is generally well under a year, especially when Dr. James Andrews is the surgeon. But nope. Not Nerlens. Not when your team has to go 2-80 to land Andrew Wiggins.

I’m 100% serious when I say that the Sixers should hold an open tryout for fans to play in regular season games (provided they sign a waiver, of course). Would be high entertainment and keep people watching.

Sixers to be replaced this season by the Washington Generals. The Generals might win more games.

I don’t see how this is bad, we need as many ping pong balls as possible!

Chip needs to take a lesson from the Sixers:
    1. Field a team with no chance of winning.
    2. Draft a can’t miss prospect to lead the franchise going forward.
    3. ???
    4. Profit

I’ve never been so pumped to root against a home team in my life. Go Sixers! Suck out loud! Bring on Wiggins!

Just following the Flyers’ lead as Giroux hasn’t shown up for a game yet this year either.

  • ThePhillyFlash October 21, 2013 at 9:17 pm

Well, at least the Sixers are being honest about their intention to stink like an open sewer and start over from scratch. Having Noel play this season would’ve derailed those plans. I wish the Flyers would follow their example.

Tank like your life depended on it! Keep on Tanking! You must Tank and you must Tank hard! As Dave Zinkoff use to say. “Tank you, you, you and especially you.”

I’m more than ok with this. Don’t try, just lose and lose consistently this year. It is the best thing that can happen to this middle of the road franchise, I really like what Hinkie is doing, sign a bunch of Mutts off the scrap heap, shit, start Kwame at the Point, who the fuck cares, it’s well worth it!

Kyle, what are the picks that the Sixers have going into next year? I know they will be in the top 3 regardless (hope for #1 – Gettin Wiggy Wit It) with their own lottery pick from sucking out loud, but then they also have the Vlasic Pelicans 1st rounder (top 6 protected I think) but the Pelican will be better than the bottom 6. Then it gets dicey, I know Hinkie traded a shitload of second rounders this year, maneuvering around and landing what 2nd rounders next year? I don’t know

The FA class next year will be tits too, if they can make this work this season which they should, 2014-2015 will bring butts back in the seats

This shouldn’t even be a question. If Derrick rose took 1,257 years to come back, Noel can take the year off to rehab properly, get bigger, and get stronger for the following year.

  • Pat October 22, 2013 at 10:52 am

More ping pong balls? Yes please! High top fade? Hell yes!

  • Miles Scott October 22, 2013 at 11:12 am

This is such a good move by the Sixers. 1. Yes it will help them lose more games, aka giving them a better draft spot. The only games they should try to win are the two against N.O. Sixers need N.O. to lose games as well but not completely tank.

    2. This gives Noel the perfect opportunity to, as one reader stated, get bigger and stronger. Also it was already reported, which you forgot to mention, that they are going to take this time to work on his offensive game and help perfect his shot. There is no reason to risk him getting hurt again. Great move.

    Keep hating Kyle

PS I’d rather watch Noel practice than watch the flyer do whatever the hell they are doing right now.

Comedy doesn’t get any better than watching those bird legs and that silly high top “Hey Kid n Play called they want Kid’s hair back fool” fade
