Voila_Capture 2014-03-04_11-07-53_AMFun little publicity stunt from the Flyers PR and marketing folks, who were given Kimmo Timonen’s bronze medal and allowed to take it around to local businesses yesterday. Fans had submitted their their place of work online likely thinking that Anthony SanFilippo and a group of cheery Flyers staffers wouldn’t show up in the middle of the day, storm their office with cameras, and talk about that Tweet you sent us while you were working yesterday.

Of the four jobs I had before doing this, I would say that two bosses would’ve fired me on the spot for this sort of thing. One would’ve thought it was awesome. And another would’ve acted like it was awesome and then chided for not working hard enough once everyone left OH MY GOD THIS VIDEO IS GIVING ME FLASHBACKS TO CORPORATE AMERICA. I don’t know how you all do it. I sit 16-feet from my bed all day and have forgotten about the soul-crushing blandness of beige walls, glass doors and fluorescent lights. Forgotten about silly intraoffice gossip. Forgotten about the little day-to-day things, like the hum of the coffee machine or the sound the stairway door makes when it snaps shut on an unsuspecting visitor, that slowly eat away at you from the inside-out until your body is nothing but an empty vessel for corporate overlords to do with what they please all while telling you how thrilled you should be about a 3% raise that isn’t even enough to keep up with inflation and rising broadband costs. No human should be subjected to that eight hours a day. I’m sorry, people. Really. Get out while you still can.

Two other things:

1) How much do you want to bet those lawyers snaked their way into licensing deal to use their likenesses? [Disclaimer: I’m kidding!]

2) More of the girl from Saul Ewing, please.

Video after the jump.
