Eagles Draft Marcus Smith

Kyle Scott - May 8, 2014

The Eagles traded out of the 22nd pick and Johnny Manziel down to 26 to get OLB Marcus Smith. Talk about anticlimactic.

  • Shaun Andrews May 8, 2014 at 11:15 pm

    Andy pick.

    • Kacie's Vacation Days May 9, 2014 at 8:19 am

this pick just reassures fans that the Eagles will NEVER win a Superbowl

  • K Shaw May 8, 2014 at 11:16 pm

    Super Bowl, lock

  • Douchebags Abound!!! May 8, 2014 at 11:16 pm

Chip Kelly is a fucking moron. This team is never going to win a Super Bowl!!!

  • Dirk Anger May 8, 2014 at 11:17 pm

Thank God I stayed up for this bullshit pick. Even better when the “experts” claim the guy is a mid-2nd to 3rd rounder. Made my night.

    • Ha Ha Eatin-Dix May 8, 2014 at 11:28 pm

The “experts” also said the cowboys were going to draft Manziel and that he was number one on their board. So I’d say the experts don’t know shit

      • Budweiser May 8, 2014 at 11:34 pm

Choosing what team a player goes to in the FIRST round is a little different than grading a players talent. This dude is a stiff and will suck in the NFL.

        • Anthony Gargano's fake laugh May 8, 2014 at 11:45 pm

Just like the way you’re a shitty beer and you suck in real life.

          • Budweiser May 9, 2014 at 12:18 am

Budweiser is the best beer in the world and you know it.

          • Kyle's camel toe May 9, 2014 at 7:16 am

            Just no.

        • NattyLight May 9, 2014 at 7:57 am

I remember when Freddy Mitchell was a “no brainier” Same with Shaun Andrews. Remember people saying “The fuck are we drafting this Westbrook bum from Villanova, does Villanova have a football team”

people need to chill the hell out. No one would of been mad if we REACHED for Lee at 22, pretty sure the 32 teams of smart ass talent evaluates all skipped over him.

          • Shaun Andrews May 9, 2014 at 8:50 am

You autistic fuck, Shaun Andrews was an All Pro. He went mental and had a full blown breakdown which led to his demise. He was never the same, but not due to lack of talent. That was an excellent draft pick from a talent evaluation standpoint.

        • Budweiser May 9, 2014 at 9:03 am

This guy knows what he is talking about. Shawn “Get Your Michael Phelps on” Andrews was a great pick. Weirdo made the pro bowl 3 times and was 2 time all-pro!

  • Jon Harris May 8, 2014 at 11:17 pm

Eagles always trying to outsmart everyone. Sick of this shit.
    Bump bump de bump

  • JON Marks May 8, 2014 at 11:20 pm

Missey had him #3 as tightest ass to take to your beach house. Says hiz jizz tastes like a vanilla milkshake. Has 10 inch verticle boner and is a BALL SACK machine. Has to tighten up his rectal area to make him fall in love. Hung like a horse, humps like a Ram. MisseyMikey likes the pick

  • Delco Jorts May 8, 2014 at 11:27 pm

I’m more disappointed that Ray Lewis didn’t snap and stab Chris Berman.

  • Sheena's Parveen May 8, 2014 at 11:33 pm

This pick is a bigger reach than the reach around that Joe Banner gave Big Red for 13 years.

  • John Clark`s anal plug May 8, 2014 at 11:34 pm

Don`t worry i`ll smile and KISS his ass tommorow and say welcome to Philadelphia…And he`ll be dating Kacie Macdonald within a month….i`m John Clark and Jeff Skeversky is fucking me up the ASS!

    • K Shaw May 8, 2014 at 11:49 pm

Wooahh, easy on the Kacie comments. If you mention her name in a negative way, Kyle will shut down the comments. I love to rip her to shreds but apparently that is not allowed on this site.

      • This pick will cost chip his job May 9, 2014 at 6:25 am

Noticed the queen kacie is off again. Must think Aaron is a 2nd day pick

  • Dr. Steve Brule May 8, 2014 at 11:35 pm

He made faces on tv and are famous now ya dingus he’ll be on a morning shows next week drangus!

  • Budweiser May 8, 2014 at 11:37 pm

Terrible….this dude is a 3rd rounder and a late one at that. Played against sub par competition in a shitty conference. Should have just took the gay guy.

    • Anthony Gargano's fake laugh May 8, 2014 at 11:48 pm

Wait I forgot. How much do you actually get paid to analyze football?

Stick to analyzing shitty beer, twat.

      • Blue Moon May 8, 2014 at 11:51 pm

I’m pretty much the go-to beer after a rowdy evening of male-on-male anal sex. If you see a guy drinking me in public, yeah, pretty great chance he’s tasted penis.

      • Budweiser May 9, 2014 at 12:21 am

Looks Iike I have a stalker….what do you drink IPAs?? Get a real screename, faggot

        • Mikey Miss's Arteries May 9, 2014 at 1:05 am

          Total Violation.

Budweiser is the dirty bunghole of beers. You should just kill yourself since your opinion is invalid.

          • Budweiser May 9, 2014 at 5:50 am

Budweiser is the King of Beers and the best beer in the world!!! You should take off you panties and try it.

          • Your Mother May 9, 2014 at 10:00 am

I call you Buttwiper whenever I drink you. You are a nasty horrible laxative of a “beer” and i wish you to die off before you cause more births of rednecks and losers living in trailer parks and slums all over this country. Fuck you Buttwiper!

        • jason May 9, 2014 at 2:50 am

id be willing to bet youve never watched a single down of marcus smith playing football

          • Budweiser May 9, 2014 at 5:49 am

I watched Louisville play twice last year. Their against loss against Central Florida and their bowl win over Miami. Half this guys sacks or TFL he wasn’t even blocked on. He will be a bust.

          • steve May 9, 2014 at 10:21 am

hey guys sacks don’t count if you are unblocked in the NFL now.

  • Branko Radivojevič May 8, 2014 at 11:40 pm

DE/LB Marcus Smith – Louisville…Maybe the most complete 3-4 OLB prospect in the draft. He can set the edge, rush the passer and cover. Looks natural at all 3.

    • Budweiser May 9, 2014 at 12:22 am

  • Freddy Galvis May 8, 2014 at 11:41 pm

¡Estoy golpeando .048 después del partido de esta noche!

  • Tripod Larry May 8, 2014 at 11:50 pm

Kyle–why do you have such a boner for Johnny Manziel? Dude is the next Brady Quinn.

    • Agree May 8, 2014 at 11:55 pm

Johnny Football is going to get fucking crushed in the NFL

  • nick papagiorgio May 9, 2014 at 12:01 am

    Mike Mamila Part Deux. #firstroundfail

    • Shut up May 9, 2014 at 12:02 am

Shut the fuck up you humorless shitcunt

  • Andy Schreiber May 9, 2014 at 12:10 am

Instead of drafting a player named “Ha Ha” they drafted a player that made the other GMs around the league say, “Ha ha!”

    Brandon Graham Part II???

    • Realist May 9, 2014 at 12:20 am

Wow man that was hilarious. How long have you been waiting to bust out that Ha ha pun?

      • Mike May 9, 2014 at 12:24 am

probably since the minute Smith got drafted.

    • DmitriYushkevich May 9, 2014 at 7:28 am

      joke doesn’t work.

      1. ha ha was off the board before the eagles drafted so he was never an option.

      2. its not funny even if it did work.

      3. you have a goatee

      • Harry nipes May 9, 2014 at 7:37 am

I spit out my fruit loops reading this, thank you for making my morning.

        “3.You have a goatee.”

    • Joe Younes Sweatshorts May 9, 2014 at 7:54 am

Click Goatees name. It’s a link to his blog, interesting read…

      • FREE KWAME!!! May 9, 2014 at 8:23 am

Oh fuck you for getting me to do that. Literally 5 seconds of my time stolen from my life.

      • Andy Schreiber May 9, 2014 at 1:18 pm

Thanks for taking the time to check it out.

        My apologies to “Free Kwame!!!”

  • Gruden's Comb Over May 9, 2014 at 12:31 am

I’m not gonna lie when they came up at 22 i was ALLLL about Johnny Football and watching him making it rain in Philly … that’s just the fan in you right there cause that pick would have created a massive shit show

  • Anthony gargano talking about food May 9, 2014 at 12:45 am

Gargano : oooooohhh buddy. I had the mudadell with the provolone and the brushetta on a primos wit! That’s how we did it in south Philly (insert fake laugh)

    • Lil' Ant May 9, 2014 at 12:54 am

One time daddy took me to see where he grew up and it didn’t look like the city and I said daddy this isn’t south philly and he said yes it is Lil’ Ant you see that cheesesteak place right there and I looked but all I saw was trees and some deer and sometimes daddy cries in the bathroom at night and tells himself his life is one big lie.

      • Anthony gargano talking about food May 9, 2014 at 1:55 am

Lil ant bro were gona get some venasin and cook it with the olive oil and garlic butter….ohhh buddy (insert fake laugh) . Bro you can’t explain growing up in south phillly …..ohhhhhhh (insert fake laugh with excess mucus sound)

      • WIP Sucks May 9, 2014 at 8:41 am

Rob Ellis quietly weeps every week day from 1-6

      • William Rhodes May 9, 2014 at 9:21 am

Bravo. This is the type of hard hitting commentary that I’ve come to expect out of this site. Well done!

  • Mama, there goes that man again May 9, 2014 at 1:38 am

Nice pick Howie. It’s takes real courage to take a 3rd pick when you have the 26th pick in the first round.

  • Catch a damned pass May 9, 2014 at 2:44 am

is it racist if I heard a black guy talking about his son idolizing a hockey player named Wayne…(here’s where I think Simmonds)…Gretzky, yeah Gretzky that’s it.

  • The Velveeta Cheese Romancer May 9, 2014 at 6:07 am

    Who’s the brunette lower left?

  • Rust May 9, 2014 at 6:09 am

Waste of a night! What about the safety from Michigan? Kyle stop being lazy, write about how awful the Birds are!

  • Kyle's camel toe May 9, 2014 at 7:24 am

Nice to see 70s Billy Joel supporting philly.
And Velveeta’s on it, brunette’s a smokin scene stealer.

    • AndyReidsSwollenRedGooch May 9, 2014 at 11:58 am

you sir…have one the internet for the day

  • Second Opinion May 9, 2014 at 8:07 am

Another first round goldbrick joins the Lurie’s gold standard. The guy does not even know he was in Philadelphia when he played Temple.

  • Calling Bullshit May 9, 2014 at 8:14 am

(In my best Bernie voice): WHOOOOOOO???????

I stayed up for this pick.

Well, at least it wasn’t Manziel.

  • Sal Pal May 9, 2014 at 8:17 am

  • stos174 May 9, 2014 at 8:38 am

Everyone needs to stop complaining like they know whats going to happen. Read peoples board and what they said about him. Everyones a NFL scout, shut up and let Chip do what he does!

  • Jeff Lurie May 9, 2014 at 8:38 am

I could have picked Bozo the Clown and you fans will still show up next year. Hell, I am even putting in more seats.

    • Mikey Mess May 9, 2014 at 9:28 pm

Jeffie, why are you so gay?

  • stos174 May 9, 2014 at 8:43 am

And there is no safety from Michigan, if you guys are gonna talk atleast have facts and know what you’re talking about. And we have people licking envelopes commenting how this guys gonna be a bust and suck in the NFL, stick to licking instead of watching your first 2 minute highlight reel and looking for attention.

  • 3 Finger Lenny May 9, 2014 at 8:46 am

should have gave up a 3rd rounder & traded up to get Ha HA & then drafted Allen Robinson in the 2nd rd. No doubt Chip was drunk last night

    • Informed May 9, 2014 at 9:06 am

i was all about them landing clinton-dix too! i think that kid is going to be real good.

  • guy May 9, 2014 at 8:53 am

I went to high school with the kid in the picture. He beasted a ton of dicks circa 2002

  • JD May 9, 2014 at 8:58 am

I’m amazed that all of you don’t have NFL GM jobs. You all seem to know more than the guys that are actually running the teams. Maybe they should look at these boards the next time they have an opening.

How about we wait and see how they actually play before passing judgment!!

    • TD Waterhouse May 9, 2014 at 9:03 am

Get the fuck off this site faggot.

      • JD May 9, 2014 at 9:09 am

        Well thought out reply.

    • Shoulder Pads Guy May 9, 2014 at 9:06 am

It’s not about that, it’s about drafting a guy you could of had in the late 2nd rd or 3rd rd.

      • Budweiser May 9, 2014 at 9:13 am

Exactly. This guy seems to be one of the few on here with common sense.

        • Candy's filthy panties May 9, 2014 at 11:22 am

The only common sense here is that Budweiser is the shittiest beer in the world.

          Re-evaluate your life.

          • Budweiser May 9, 2014 at 5:54 pm

Budweiser is the number one selling beer in world! Is that what you said???

      • JD May 9, 2014 at 9:15 am

That is according to the “experts”. We don’t know where he was on other teams’ draft boards.
My point is that all fan bases over react one way or the other with the draft.

        • Query May 9, 2014 at 9:18 am

Does JD stand for “Just Dicks”?

          • JD May 9, 2014 at 9:22 am

Did you think of that all by yourself or did you need help?

    • Budweiser May 9, 2014 at 9:12 am

What don’t you understand? All the “experts” had him as a 2nd or 3rd round pick. That is what the uproar is about. He could be the second coming of LT, that still doesn’t change that picking this kid in the 1st round was a major reach.

      • JD May 9, 2014 at 9:21 am

I understand that the reaction is based on the “experts” opinions. How often are the “experts” correct? Go back over the years and see their evaluations on players and how those players actually performed. My bet is they are right about 50-60 percent of the time.

        • Budweiser May 9, 2014 at 10:26 am

Nah, you can do that. If you don’t understand why people are pissed, looking back over old drafts isn’t going to help you.

          • JD May 9, 2014 at 11:23 am

I do understand, in fact I wrote those exact words above. Mel Kiper and all of the media experts said that Smith should be drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round so now all the fans who never saw him play are upset. If he has 15 sacks this year or next everybody will forget where he was drafted. I just get a kick out of everyone getting upset before the kid even plays a down in the NFL.

  • Just Get One Decent Receiver May 9, 2014 at 9:01 am

What exactly is the plan at WR if (when) Maclin’s leg explodes for the third time? Riley Cooper and Ifeanyi Momah? I know we’re mainly going to see Chip go nuts with Sproles & Shady/TE screens, but I’d feel a little better with at least some WR depth.

  • Junkhead May 9, 2014 at 9:03 am

The issue is that they picked a guy in the first round that more than likely would have been there for them to pick in the second or third round.

    • Shoulder Pads Guy May 9, 2014 at 9:07 am

      stole my thunder JH

      • Delco Jorts May 9, 2014 at 9:12 am

        Is this the actual Shaun?

  • gq May 9, 2014 at 9:17 am

the important question is who is the talent on the left in the white in that pic

    • Rob Ford May 9, 2014 at 9:19 am

I dunno but I sure hope she’s over 22 and not from the area.

    • indeed May 9, 2014 at 9:35 am

  • Faceman May 9, 2014 at 10:12 am

Gotta love it…Philly fans bitch about ignoring the LB position for years. Pick a LB with decent upside and gets trashed. I feel there is CB Meme in there somewhere.

All of you bitching we ‘didn’t get a WR’ chill. This is one of the deepest WR drafts in years, they will come. In Chip we Trust!

    • ThePhillyFlash May 9, 2014 at 12:38 pm

For a team with only one and a half receivers under contract (the “half” being Jeremy Maclin and his questionable knees) and a lack of talent in the defensive backfield, linebacker was not exactly a crying need that couldn’t have been addressed in the later rounds with this kid. As for that deep collection of receivers, five are already gone, and since 21 teams pick before the Eagles in the second round today (barring a trade up), Chip had better hope and pray there isn’t a sudden rush to snatch up what’s left.
