Howard, Burnett, Bastardo, More Put on Revocable Trade Waivers

According to Ken Rosenthal, the Phillies have put Ryan Howard, A.J. Burnett, Antonio Bastardo, Kyle Kendrick, and Roberto Hernandez on waivers. These players can now be claimed by anyone, or clear waivers and be dealt to any team, or be pulled back off of waivers for whatever reason the Phillies want. They’re finally doing something about this roster though, and we’ll keep an eye on all of these guys.

  1. Anyone remember when Kyle flipped out and called Amaro a liar when he put Cliff Lee on waivers, then backpedaled once he actually understood what revocable trade waivers were?

    1. I absolutely remember that. Good times. None of those players will be claimed, what a shame.

  2. This is just a way to keep guys tradable until the end of August. Lol, no one wants Howard. That’s just silly.

  3. Maybe they should have taken some (any) of the offers last week for these turds? Fuck you Rube.

  4. You have a better chance of getting a refund from a hooker than seeing someone stake a claim on Howard.

    1. Can the far east claim howard? I could see a slew of asians wanting to get a picture of “blackzilla”

  5. how do we get Jim onto irrevocable waivers?

Kyle – wouldn’t it be easier to hire a high school college intern at $8/hr to copy/paste/re-post non-original content from everyone else on the internet? Wouldn’t said hs intern come significantly cheaper than Jim and not cut into your Six Figure Salary? Pretty sure a hs intern would have a better grasp of punctuation (and sports for that matter) than ol’ Jimbo.

Jim, in a word = tragic
