Let’s All Suggest Better Walk-Up Songs for Ben Revere

Earlier today, the Phillies tweeted out three songs that you could choose from for Ben Revere to use for today’s second-to-last series closer at home against the Marlins. The season has been long and sad and pointless, so we have some more suggestions:

  • Boyz II Men – “End of the Road”
  • The Doors – “The End”
  • Sugar Ray – “When It’s Over”
  • Wyclef Jean feat. The Rock – “It Doesn’t Matter”
  • Bob Dylan – “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue”
  • Titus Andronicus – “No Future”
  • Weezer – “Why Bother?”
  • Kanye West – “All Falls Down”
  • Linkin Park – “In the End”
  • Stone Temple Pilots – “Big Empty”
  • Willie Nelson – “The Party’s Over”

Any of those would really work, but feel free to suggest your own to the Phillies with #RevereTheMusic, and then be grateful that it’s all almost over.

  1. He shouldn’t have walk-up music. It should be silent. Or maybe you could play crickets chirping.

  2. Why is everybody so intent on shit talking Revere? Is it because it’s all they hear on sports radio? That fat fuck Gargano is a fraud and anybody who takes his lisping, spittle-filled ramblings as gospel is truly a moron.

Granted, Ben’s not the greatest player but he’s had his moments. And being a serious contender for a batting title is a nice little nugget. He has great speed, his bat came alive in the second half, and his defense, while marred by some glaring fuckups, had some nice highlights this season. The one thing he’s lacking is a power arm

If the fucking Hall of Fame can honor Mo’Ne Davis, then we as fans can certainly give Ben a little love.

    1. “The one thing he’s lacking is a power arm”

The ONE thing he’s lacking? How about the ability to get on base or have extra base hits? He’s a fucking leadoff hitter and he’s drawn just 13 walks in 609 plate appearances. Do you have any idea how terrible that is? His OBP of .326 is .12 above league average which includes shitty hitting pitchers and catchers. That’s definitely what you want out of a leadoff hitter, right? A mediocre OBP.

      1. All good points….and I agree he shouldn’t be in the leadoff spot.

But blame Ryno for that, not Ben.

      2. Umm No, Who the fuck else are you going to bat in leadoff? Tell me? Utley and Ruiz have the only OBp better than Revere. You using Ruiz to lead off? I could run around the bases backwards and keep up with him. Utley is the only guy who fits your one and only OBP requirement for leading off. Are you going to take his RBI threat away? Rely solely on Howard, Brown, Ruff to drive in runs? Lol, look at the whole picture. Revere is what he is, and he does have value. He’s the fastest on the team and can swipe bags. He hits above average. This is what he is. Don’t get sore on the guy because he’s the best option to lead off. Get sore on the GM for making it so.
