The Vikings Have No Idea What They’re Doing

I’m imagining a room in which three monkeys sit around a circle, staring quizzically at the oblong object – a football, to humans… mom, to cows – that they’ve spent the last 10 minutes trying to fuck. That’s the Minnesota Vikings. Their statement:

This has been an ongoing and deliberate process since last Friday’s news. In conversations with the NFL over the last two days, the Vikings advised the League of the team’s decision to revisit the situation regarding Adrian Peterson. In response, the League informed the team of the option to place Adrian on the Exempt/Commissioner’s Permission list, which will require that Adrian remain away from all team activities while allowing him to take care of his personal situation until the legal proceedings are resolved. After giving the situation additional thought, we have decided this is the appropriate course of action for the organization and for Adrian.

We are always focused on trying to make the right decision as an organization. We embrace our role – and the responsibilities that go with it – as a leader in the community, as a business partner and as an organization that can build bridges with our fans and positively impact this great region. We appreciate and value the input we have received from our fans, our partners and the community.

While we were trying to make a balanced decision yesterday, after further reflection we have concluded that this resolution is best for the Vikings and for Adrian. We want to be clear: we have a strong stance regarding the protection and welfare of children, and we want to be sure we get this right. At the same time we want to express our support for Adrian and acknowledge his seven-plus years of outstanding commitment to this organization and this community. Adrian emphasized his desire to avoid further distraction to his teammates and coaches while focusing on his current situation; this resolution accomplishes these objectives as well.

We will support Adrian during this legal and personal process, but we firmly believe and realize this is the right decision. We hope that all of our fans can respect the process that we have gone through to reach this final decision. – Zygi Wilf and Mark Wilf

We firmly believe and realize this is the right decision… until we change our minds again because we have no idea what we’re doing and, at this point, we’re just completely reacting to public pressure, and we’re trying to find the delicate balance between angering the general public and pissing off our numbskull fans, whose reaction to our latest reaction can be found after the jump.

The Vikings forgot to turn off Facebook comments on their statement, all sic’d, of course:

Fucking pussies, caving to PR pressure. Grow a set of balls. Wilf brothers have two empty sacks. Not a ball to be found.

I’m a life long Vikings fan and I’m sorry to say that the Minnesota Vikings management and owners are a bunch of pussies andpussies I am asking all season ticket holders to boycott the next home game show them who pays the bills. Give Adrian his due. Yes been convicted of nothing . Except threw the media.

Social media fueled mob justice gets what they want because we are a nation of shallow thinking sheep.

wow well america is truly dead thank you all your socialist fuckers.

Gutless! Like this is going to magically make his child all better! How stupid are you people? The mob rules…

Grew up worse than this kid…Came out stronger than most thought I would…feel sorry that he got over disciplined but I’m not one to judge someone else’s parenting…i’ll leave that to the man upstairs…He without sin cast the first stone…

This decision actually punishes the long suffering fans of the Minnesota Vikings. Many of us have adopted the mantra, just one before I die! Well, this decision removes all hope for this year. We have seem the offense without AP and it is lacking!

This Adrian Peterson topic has garnered a lot of attention, as it well should in regards to any possible child abuse. As a new parent, I have made the decision to not use a switch or a belt to punish my kid(s), but I am neither for or against it.

Let Peterson play most of the haters aren’t even Vikings fans.

WRONG DECISION! I was proud of you guys when you finally stood by Adrian, and not the Right Wing Liberal media…but now you’ve buckled to them, and the “almighty dollar”. PITIFUL! And being a Pastor, I can tell you, From GOD’S POINT of VIEW, you are doing the WRONG THING!

  1. The PC leftist who have taken over our government are a virus. They now have infected the NFL. Say goodbye to football as we knew it.

      1. it’s his fault that Peterson ‘s kid disobeyed because of the left wing socialist agenda is being conveyed to weak minded unpatriotic 4 year olds subliminally through the evil tactics of the Illuminati Masons.

  2. Yikes – The Vikings fans don’t seem to get it at all. What a bunch of morons. That being said, you know Roger Goodell is crapping his pants and has to be thinking “Whats Next?” He made his millions, step down and get away from this disgrace. From owners on drugs and getting DUI’s, to Multiple Offenders of Drugs, to Woman abuse and Child Abuse. The league is a fricken fricken mess.

    1. Eagles fans still love Shady. Do I need to remind everyone he’s being sued for abuse?

“McCoy, along with his bodyguard and a couple of other guys, began to spray some of the women with water. Roe claims she protested the water spraying … so McCoy ordered his bodyguard Big John to “get her.”
In the suit, filed May 10 in Philadelphia, the woman claims McCoy and/or Big John proceeded to hit her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground.
While she was on the floor, the men allegedly physically restrained her and poured a beverage onto her hair, clothes and body. And if things couldn’t get worse … the woman claims McCoy and Big John then forcibly ejected her from the party bus on the side of the New Jersey Turnpike.
But some of the women allegedly complained to McCoy about Roe getting the boot — so she was snatched back up from the side of the road and placed back on the bus.
The woman claims she was taken to a nearby rest stop — where the football player once again ditched her — and continued on with his party trip.”

      1. And if things couldn’t get worse

You got watered poured on you and you were restrained after you probably freaked out so they kicked you off the bus, they then let you on and gave you a ride to a rest stop to figure your own way home. I am going to go out on a limb and say that it could have gone worse, much worse

        1. /\ See, it only took a minute for someone to justify this and ignore the “hitting” part /\

If indeed that is what happened.

  3. This is typical of a corporation that gets so big it deludes itself into thinking they are untouchable.

Arrogant pricks….now they can reap what they’ve sown.

  4. We here at Code Pink(eye) demand the NFL apologize for their treatment of women, children , minorities, Native Americans and anyone else who isn’t a White Male!

  5. I really don’t understand what is wrong with what AP did. Let due process happen, what he did was legal.

Plus, AP is on my fantasy team and I need him to play

      1. I just returned from my meeting of “transsexuals who regret chopping it off” and saw these posts. I’m the real Bob!

    1. What he did was beat a 4 year old child and stuff leaves into his mouth. The child has welts and bruises over most of his body and he also cut his scrotum. Now a second allegation with another child last summer has come to light. I am sure there is a long line. It was not normal disciplining it was child abuse and some morons still don’t get it.

  6. More allegations are beginning to show a mean streak in Peterson. The dude seems like a POS actually. Effim, I hope he never lives it down. This is beyond using a stick to discipline your child “like you were raised”.

  7. And you crazy nuts are worried about Football. You’d better get a second job and buy a hurricane shelter and some windmills you fools. I’ve been hunkered down in my shelter eating dried fish for the past 3 months!

  8. Beating your children with tree branches is a part of black culture, and we all know blacks are generally non violent as adults. Who are we white folk to question black culture?

  9. In 1969, Dr. Day met with 80 physicians at a luncheon in Pittsburgh, PA.

He spoke for 2 hours about a wide range of topics… predictions of things to come.

One of the things he said was the need to eliminate pro sports – specifically baseball and football… and get the masses to accept soccer. They would do this by getting fans outraged with high salaries and contaminated behavior…

That’s EXACTLY what’s happening here, folks.

This conflict is scripted to get the masses to destroy its favorite past times.

  10. I still can’t get over the picture of a female Viking fan with her helmet on (yikes) and her Peterson jersey, holding a switch like the one he beat his kid with, with a big smile on her face. More single digit IQ fans.
