Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reports the Mets had interest in Jimmy Rollins, who, unfortunately (but commendably), didn’t have interest in them:

Now this would have made an interesting pairing: The Mets, in need of a shortstop, spoke with the Philadelphia Phillies about acquiring Jimmy Rollins (who has a full NTC) in a trade, sources told ESPNNewYork.com. The pursuit since has been dismissed because Rollins does not want to leave Philadelphia, a source added.

Good thing Ruben Amaro gave Rollins that $11 million vesting option for next year…
