The Life of a Troll (Part Deux)

Even if you don’t venture down there, you probably know our comments section is a special place. Sure, some rough things are said about Kyle and I (and Sean Brace), but lively back-and-forth discussions happen down there on their own, outside of the context of whatever the post is about, because usually our posts aren’t about dicks, someone’s teeth or hate crimes. It’s all pretty incredible.

But then there are those times conversations are comprised of exactly … one … one person. As you can see above (and in other samples below), many different comments under many different names — at times conversing with one another — were posted by the same person at a remarkable clip today. Now, since we’re looking at it externally, it would appear that all of these comments came from different people, but alas, it’s just some guy who likes to use balls in his email handle doing all the talking. Note the IP:

Here at Crossing Broad, we aim to please. We’re glad we can talk to you about sports (or in Kyle’s case, Taylor Swift), but we’re also just thrilled that we can offer a platform for you to compliment yourself on your own joke. That’s a rare commodity, and we’re proud-ish to give it to you.

I asked Kyle to weigh in, and he offered: “I got to give this guy credit. I actually responded to one of his dumbass comments today, so he has, in fact, won. Of course, winning is all relative here. I’m sure whatever existence he (or she but probably he) has that allows him to comment like 30 different times under 10 different names is a great one that will probably end with him crying himself to a lonely sleep tonight and every night for the remainder of the year and probably next year, too. So well done, Tom Balls, Moo Stonky, Squirrel Master, you’re talking to yourself… which is probably one of just many things you do with yourself and absolutely no one else. Would you like another Taylor Swift video or are you still working your way through that first one?”

I mean personally, I don’t think another video would hurt… though I suppose it might burn?
