Andrei Kirilenko does not want to play for the Sixers. A report says the Sixers promised to release him, but Brett Brown says that’s not the case. Either way, Kirilenko has no interest in suiting up for the Sixers. And he’s not alone.

According to Keith Pompey, an Eastern Conference veteran — speaking on the condition of anonymity — said of the Sixers, “No one wants to go there. Not right now.” In response, every person on the planet said “No shit.” The Sixers are fun. They’re young. They’re exciting. Are they a goddamn disaster of a basketball team? Pretty much. They have seven wins and 29 losses. Right now, they’re exciting to watch for the flashes of what the future could bring, but the future is still a gigantic question mark. The plan as it stands is to be attractive to free agents and veterans around 2017-ish. But right now? If someone anonymously told a reporter that they actually want to leave whatever team they’re on and play for the Sixers, you might want to put them through the concussion protocols. Unless they’re currently on the Knicks.
