New Jersey Devils Owner Joshua Harris

Way back in October, Bloomberg reported that Sixers (and Devils) owner Joshua Harris was going to use some of his pocket change to buy the English Premier League club Crystal Palace. And now, according to the Telegraph, that deal is almost done, for £100 million (roughly $147,906,000):

Josh Harris is on the verge of completing his £100million takeover of Crystal Palace.
Harris and partner David Blitzer are close to taking full control and could be officially unveiled early next week, following months of discussions with the Premier League club.
The American businessman, who also owns NBA franchise Philadelphia 76ers and NHL side New Jersey Devils, is confident of striking a deal within the next 48 hours and is already targeting a major redevelopment of Selhurst Park.

Maybe he’ll try to add that court/ice projection technology to the field. Actually, that’d be garbage, but you can expect Harris to start making money on this deal almost immediately. It’s his style. And if you know of any baseball teams for sale, maybe give him a call.

Kyle: The Sixers, as part of their partnership with Draft Kings and Party Poker, are at the forefront of the sports wagering movement. Scott O’Neil told us a few months ago that it was only a matter of time before sports betting is legalized in the US. It’s HUGE in Europe, especially with regards to Premier League soccer. I wouldn’t be surprised in the least if Harris, eventually, imparts some of the knowledge or partnerships from Crystal Palace over to the US in what I think is a crusade for the Sixers to be on the leading edge of that initiative over here. Some of CP’s sponsors? You guessed it:
