John Bolaris Wants to Bring Down Comcast

John Bolaris’  work at [editor’s note: which was actually pretty good] came to an end yesterday as they partnered with NBC10’s gimmicky First Alert Weather for their weather updates (you know, the people with the giant “First Alert Weather Day” logo in the corner of your TV when it’s barely snowing). Bolaris, as always, wasn’t happy and took to Twitter to voice his opinion, this time on his professional account. But there’s a lot more where that came from:

And he closed it all out by threatening to compare his forecasts and NBC10’s side-by-side this year to see which is better, and called for everyone to grab their torches and pitchforks and take down Comcast. I’m with him on that last one.

I’m… inspired?

  1. This is probably devastating for J-Bo. But let’s be honest, now is the time to combine forces with the Philly Influencer and show stodgy ol’ media what’s what.

  2. Are there 2 people in the Delaware valley who give a rats ass about john bolaris like after the weather is finished we care about who was right

  3. This is kinda embarrassing….John, let it go. You had a nice career…but its done. Go out gracefully, like a professional. This guy just cannot his face out of the spotlight.

I guess all that attention can be addictive. He blasts everyone that doesn’t kiss his butt.

    Kinda sad.

  4. This isn’t news until there’s a Game of Thrones theme song video at the end of the post.

  5. Bolaris is like that Psycho chick you nailed (who you knew you shouldn’t have because she’s a psycho chick and all) and now you want a nice clean exit from it all and she goes all psycho on you for breaking it off.

This is the Bolaris problem to the T.

  6. Someone I know works for the federal court system. Said John made an ass out of himself everyday in court acting like he’s a A-list celebrity. Constantly having to be told by prosecutor and judge to chill with his dumbass jokes and to basically stop making a mockery of the court on a daily basis.

  7. Bolaris is the Donovan McNabb of Philly News Media. No matter what he does (or doesn’t do) he gets constantly shit on, it’s amazing to watch unfold.

  8. There are certain bridges I can’t close as Bolaris just burned his own bridges.

  9. If times get tough, he could submit screencaps of his tweets to Kyle for $25. Eliminate the middleman.

  10. I think I’m in a small minority who feels bad for J-Bo. When there’s serious weather, there’s no one I trust more to get it right. Maybe its because he has no other distractions (like a full time job) but his forecasts are usually more accurate sooner than everyone else’s.

Its just a shame that he can’t keep his mouth shut. The public may find it refreshing or amusing, but owners of large businesses won’t put up with those shenanigans. Its so much easier to find the weatherbabe and avoid any headaches. Wise up, John!

  11. By the way….did ANYONE sign up for the weather concierge? I thought that was just about the greatest scam I’ve ever heard.

  12. Bolaris is a fuckin’ dope, but I’m all in for bringing down Comcast and the bastards that run it!!!

  13. I hate them both.Bowlairass is a dicksmoker. And comecassssst is pure evil.

  14. Really? I am very pleased with my Comcast Services. Sure, its a little pricy but so is Verizon (my other option). All in all, I would rate them a 9 out of 10.

    1. You are definitely the minority when it comes to Com(scum)cast!

  15. Everything published was actually very logical.
However, what about this? suppose you typed a catchier title?
I mean, I don’t wish to tell you how to run your
website, but suppose you added something that makes
people desire more? I mean John Bolaris Wants to Bring Down Comcast | Crossing Broad is kinda boring.
You could glance at Yahoo’s home page and watch how they
create news titles to grab viewers to open the links. You might
add a related video or a related pic or two to get readers interested about what you’ve got to say.
Just my opinion, it might make your posts a little livelier.
