More People in Philly Watched the Draft Last Night than Ever Before

Last night’s NBA draft had huge implications for Sixers fans, and they watched in record numbers. According to Forbes, the draft was the most-watched nationally since 1995, but locally it was even bigger:

As for the numbers in local markets,, the NBA Draft telecast delivered a record 8.5 rating in the top-ranked Louisville market, which is the best rating the market has ever produced for the NBA Draft. Additionally, the Philadelphia market delivered its best-ever NBA Draft rating – a 5.0.

Louisville is, of course, the hometown of alternate-reality Sixer D’Angelo Russell. Neither New York nor LA cracked the top ten local markets, so the Sixers should just be awarded their picks. That’s the rule.
