Do you wanna hop on the Tampa Bay Lightning bandwagon for the Stanley Cup Finals but you don’t know a damn thing about hockey? Okay, most important: No opposing team gear at the arena. Second most important: Understanding the basics of hockey. Luckily, the editors of some paper in Tampa have you covered, with their basic explanation of the rules.
There is, of course, nothing wrong with being a casual fan or being inspired by your local team to finally get into it. But that’s what hockey-fan friends are for. Or Google. But the fact that a local paper feels the need to pander down to the bandwagoners because it doesn’t expect them to know what a goddamn faceoff is? That’s so very Florida, and warm-weather hockey market.
