The Phillies were reportedly extremely close to trading Ben Revere to the Angels, until the Angels changed their minds.

According to the Boston Globe, Revere was close to being on his way to Anaheim:

A few weeks ago the Phillies thought they had a deal with the Angels that would have sent Ben Revere west for [RHP Trevor] Gott, who was then in Double A. The Angels pulled out of the deal at the last minute and tried to redirect the Phillies toward a starting pitching prospect, but that fizzled as well.

Revere can now officially be added to the list of Phillies likely to be dealt, along with everyone but Maikel Franco. The trade deadline is July 31st, and blank-back Phillies jerseys are on super sale at Marshall’s. Seriously, 20 bucks.
