Phil Mickelson’s tee shot on 17

Good morning. Recommendation for today: Flip back and forth between the final round of the British Open and this site. I assume that Jordan Spieth has officially surpassed Phil Mickelson as the yuppie white person favorite, yes? GO JORDAN! Yes.

[Always wondered if Jim Nantz sits at home, in full uniform with his CBS sport jacket with the MASSIVE CBS logo, and announces the final rounds of majors he’s not calling to himself. Spieth… for the Claret Jug. And an American claims Britain for himself. King Spieth reigns supreme at St. Andrews!]

Let’s hit it!

But first, a word from our sponsors:

The roundup:

The Phillies won three in a row. And no one cares. But hey, Erik Kratz is back… so there’s something.

Ryan Howard’s castle still doesn’t appear to be finished:

LeSean McCoy readies himself for the 2015 NFL season. Culture Wins Football, right?

Even Phillies trade chips know what the plan should be. Ben Revere:

“We are in a rebuilding stage with a bunch of young guys and we are trying to get prospects and young talent,” Revere said. “I am one that can allow the Phillies to get those candidates.”

Comcast is allowing customers to stream video games like FIFA over their cable box and play them with phones and tablets as controllers. It’s unclear if these are the console or mobile versions of the games. Either way, interesting. Say what you want about Comcast, but they are at least trying with their X1 platform. Anyone have it? How’s your experience been?

You shouldn’t let your kids play in the brown water pooled in the aisles of a Major League Baseball stadium.

Reader Brian checks in:

I’ve been a Phillies season ticket holder since CBP opened in 2004.  Tonight was one of the most disgraceful and patronizing acts the Phillies have done since I’ve had the tickets.  In the 9th inning tonight in the Phils 6-3 win as Paplebon  trotted out to the mound (his first since the “get off the pot” comments), the crowd began to boo.  The stadium staff subsequently turned up his “entrance music” to drown out the boos. The music was louder than I’ve ever heard in my 11 years as a season ticket holder.  I pointed it out to others that you could not even hear the PA announcer broadcast the pitching change.  Even if he’s performed, Paplebon (the highest paid closer in baseball history) has been a complete dick and a piss poor representative of the organization.  Yet the Phillies tonight chose to protect him by drowning out what’s left of the paying audience that comes to see this shitty team play.

Check into it.  They’ll likely deny it.  I know I’m right.  I was so disgusted that I walked out before the bottom of the 9th began and I will be making this known to my season ticket rep.

Thanks Amaro.

Brian

And this is before the Phillies botch the trade deadline.
