J.P. Crawford, a top-5 prospect in all of baseball and the player with the best chance of being the face of the Phillies this side of Aaron Nola, sees a bright future for his Major League club. While fans are sitting around looking for bright spots in a potentially 100-loss season, Crawford is looking ahead. And he’s confident.

“I think we’re going to win a World Series in a couple of years,” Crawford said. Not quite Nostradamus, but still a lofty goal for a the 20-year-old. But he’s been impressing people who’ve been there. “I was only there two games, but he looked extremely comfortable defensively with a strong arm,” Chase Utley told Ryan Lawrence. “His actions were what you’d expect from a top prospect shortstop. And he can swing the bat as well. You can tell he has an idea what he’s doing with the bat.”

Crawford may be years away from playing on a competitive major league team, but if he wants to be a World Fucking Champion one day, praise from the original WFC isn’t a bad start.
