The Phillies' Broadcast Has Switched To Publicity Stunt Mode
CSN press release:
The Phillies broadcasting team of Tom McCarthy, Matt Stairs and Ben Davis will call the game from a special location near the on-deck circle on Tuesday, August 4th against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The game airs on Comcast SportsNet at 7 p.m.
This special booth location provides the broadcasters with a unique view of the game, the players and the ballpark. Last season, the broadcast location was moved to the outfield, where Phillies play-by-play voice Tom McCarthy caught a home run ball hit by Freddie Freeman of the Atlanta Braves.
Probably wrong to root for another ball to be hit in T-Mac’s direction given the close proximity to home… right? RIGHT?!
Side note: They should throw Greggggggggggg Murphy in the broadcast booth and dub it “Bizarro Night.” Send Stairs around the ballpark to interview and pound beers with fans. #RatingsWin
