Chip Kelly Runs an Up Tempo Offense Because He Cares About You

Chip Kelly has strategies. He has no interest in sharing them with you. It’s just how he operates. So I’m sure he has tons of football reasons he runs an up tempo offense, he just doesn’t feel like telling you about it. Especially if you’re a beat reporter for the opponent.
On a conference call with those out-of-town reporters, Chip was asked about his pace of play:
Q: What is your theory behind the tempo attack and how best it should work?
Chip Kelly: We are just trying to get the game over quicker.
Q: But, anything football-wise? You know, other than getting the game over quicker.
Chip Kelly: That’s it. It’s all for the fans. We just want the game to get over quicker. People shouldn’t be paying a lot of money to watch guys stand around.
Q: No football reasons, though?
Chip Kelly: Not really.
Chip doesn’t even care about football. He doesn’t especially like it. He’s in it for the fan enjoyment aspect. He just wants you to have a good time.
When he's not writing about sports here or ranting about them on Twitter, Jim is probably watching X-Files on Netflix or drinking a beer somewhere. Jim has nothing against hockey, it's just not his style. He once met Duce Staley at a Sixers game.
