Damontre Moore was fined $20,000 for his super late hit on Sam Bradford. This isn’t at all surprising since it was one of the latest hits I’ve ever seen. Here’s a list of things that were earlier than that hit:

  • Your actual take-off time vs. your scheduled departure time on any flight
  • What time the actual movie starts vs. when the trailers start
  • Any package you’ve ever gotten delivered
  • The check at a restaurant when you really need to leave
  • The Sixers ending their feud with Wells Fargo

… and then came the hit. The minimum fine for a second late hit offense in a season is $17,363, but the league rounded it up to a nice, even $20,000. Why? Roger Goodell has no “why.” But also probably because he body slammed Bradford.

Speaking of Bradford, he loves you a lot more than you live him. Speaking to the media after yesterday’s practice, he said how much he appreciates that fanbase here:

“Since I’ve been here I’ve learned that this is a great sports city. The fans are passionate. They really care … It’s more similar to when I was at Oklahoma, than St. Louis. In Oklahoma, Oklahoma football is a really big deal, you couldn’t go anywhere without someone coming up to you to talk about something that happened in last week’s game. It’s similar to that, the passion they have here for football.”

Those are kind (and accurate) words. And how do you feel about him?

So … about the same, then?

The Phillies are reportedly close to making their GM decision. Jerry Crasnick said the Phils are down to three GM candidates and their decision could be coming very soon. According to other reports, put together by Section 215, those three could likely be Oakland Athletics’ assistant general manager Dan Kantrovitz, Kansas City Royals’ assistant general manager J.J. Picollo (from Cherry Hill), and Los Angeles Angels’ assistant general manager Matt Kletak, former Boston Red Sox’ general manager Ben Cherington, or another. Cherington is reportedly Middleton’s top pick but might not want the job.

And NBA.com released its “All League Pass” teams, aka the players who you should be watching on a regular basis if you pay for NBA League Pass. Jahlil Okafor landed a third team spot.
