I know Stephen A. Smith is a troll, but there are actually people out there who are thinking this today. On what planet does this make sense?

I’m all for a flyer on Kaep in the offseason, but bringing a new quarterback into a system as different as Chip Kelly’s – with its up-tempo-ness, cardboard signs and reliance on QB decision making – and then immediately competing for a Super Bowl with said quarterback, is completely ridiculous. Like most things, I can’t imagine Stephen A. even believes what he’s saying. But some people do. Some people out there take this stuff, call Mike Missanelli, and are all garble garble garble oh my God Stephen A. said this will get it done what do you think Mike?

Again, I think there’s a case to be made for Kaepernick still being a good quarterback. A fantasy team-crushing, soul-leveling quarterback, but still a good quarterback. Look:

Gawsh. If only Kaepernick hadn’t been sacked 28 times… he’d still be in a terrible offensive system. But quarterback is maybe the last position in all of sports that you can seriously switch mid-season and bring in someone new and expect to have any reasonable measure of success. Can we stop with this utter clickbait nonsense and start inventing ways that Chip Kelly can pry Marcus Mariota loose from the Titans?
