Broussard: Okafor Will Now Be Accompanied By a Bodyguard at All Times

You can file this under “We all saw this coming” or “This should have been the case anyway”: According to ESPN’s Chris Broussard*, the Sixers will now supply Jahlil Okafor with a bodyguard “whenever he goes out.” The security comes at the request of “Okafor’s handlers” according to Broussard, and while the Sixers “did not return a phone call seeking comment … two sources said the club will honor the request.”
This isn’t surprising, but if the security is hired/supplied by the Sixers, and something still happens, then it’ll actually be on them.
*A post like this would usually have “Report:” in the headline, but since this comes from the notoriously rough Chris Broussard, I felt it was necessary to let you know right off the bat.
When he's not writing about sports here or ranting about them on Twitter, Jim is probably watching X-Files on Netflix or drinking a beer somewhere. Jim has nothing against hockey, it's just not his style. He once met Duce Staley at a Sixers game.
