Zach Ertz Gets Paid

According to multiple reports, the Eagles have signed TE Zach Ertz to a five-year, $42.5 million contract. The deal makes Ertz the league’s fifth-highest paid TE in per-year earnings behind Jimmy Graham, Julius Thomas, Gronk, and … Charles Clay.

You can expect announcements like this coming soon on Lane Johnson (Kyle’s favorite) and Vinny Curry if all goes well.

  1. Overpay.

Why does Ertz continue to get so my hype? Can’t block and drops too many balls, especially in key spots or in the end zone.

  2. Really think Ertz is so terribly overrated. He comes alive when the season means fuckall and was just as culpable as anyone for all the dropped passes in key moments this season.

  3. I have a bad feeling Vinny Curry is going to sign with either the Carolina Panthers, or the Seattle Seahawks.

    1. I sure hope so…I miss his hot take on Philly sports, not to mention I really want to see how he addresses the “time off”

    2. Who fucking cares? . No one listens to that asshat, his gimmicks are old and more predictable than a Chip Kelly offense…

  4. I like Ertz, but why would you pay a top 10-15 TE top 5 money? Makes no sense. Two touchdowns when the top few TE’s have 11-13 each.

  5. it’s a top 5 contract, for now.
it sets the market for tight ends especially Jordan Reed, Tyler Eifert, Travis Kelce. All who will exceed this contract easily with a significant increase in the salary cap approaching.
yes, it’s too much money for a guy who has been average at best, but just maybe they could have saved some money.
he has potential, lets see what he can do in more traditional offense.
