Ohhhhhhh so this is how all those the Chiefs really wanted him stories about Jeremy Maclin came about. They wanted him so bad that the fat man called him directly and tampered with the Eagles’ goods.
Here’s the press release:
- Honestly, I just kind of assumed this happened anyway. Like, there was no way I thought Reid didn’t directly call Maclin and try to crowbar him away from the Eagles. Figured it was just a wink and a nod thing.
- Troy Vincent was the one who had to hand down the penalty, which must have been uncomfortable. But this came out at 5 p.m. on the day free agency started, and will undoubtedly get washed away in the news cycle like a Cheeto slipping out of Andy Reid’s swim trunks and getting lost in the surf.
- Maybe we can lay off Chip Kelly for letting Maclin go. This was a tip I got in email last year and never ran, but it seems pretty correct now: “There was a miscommunication and the Eagles actually offered more money than the Chiefs, but someone screwed up the contract and now Maclin doesn’t want to go back on his word because he verbally committed to Reid. Now the Eagles are scrambling and Chip is pissed beacause he wanted Maclin back all along. That’s all I got. Use it as you please.” Maybe if Andy wasn’t tampering.
- Who dimed on Andy?
