These are the kinds of texts I love to get on a Monday morning:
After resigning and vanishing into a puff of smoke, we now have proof that Sam Hinkie still exists. He returned to La Colombe in Fishtown today (where he previously met with Shane Battier) to talk to … someone … about “insurance policies in baseball” or something. A tipster told me it sounds like he’s doing an interview – job or media, we don’t know – and is drinking one of La Colombe’s Draft Lattes because dude is all about the draft.
We’ve enlisted the Twitter brain trust to help us figure out who he’s meeting with, but the interviewer came prepared with an iPad, while Sam has “two cell phones, an iPad mini, and a notebook” with him. Always ready.
We’ll have more if/when we find out who he was meeting with.
When he's not writing about sports here or ranting about them on Twitter, Jim is probably watching X-Files on Netflix or drinking a beer somewhere. Jim has nothing against hockey, it's just not his style. He once met Duce Staley at a Sixers game.
