Despite a report saying that he’d wait until after the draft to do so, Ben Simmons has signed with Nike for $7.5 million over five years. The likely Sixer was rumored to want to go to the Lakers to make more sneaker money, but either that was never the case or he saw the writing on the wall. He passed up more money from Adidas.

Simmons becomes one of dozens and dozens of NBA stars sponsored by Nike, but will likely be the first Sixer with his own signature shoe since Allen Iverson, and the first (likely) Philly athlete to have a shoe with Nike since… ever Charles Barkley.
