The Phillies' Throwback Celebration Tomorrow Will Feature Mini KISS, a Little Person KISS Tribute Band
During tomorrow night’s Phillies game against the Brewers, they’ll be tossing it back to 1976 with throwback uniforms, former mascots Phil & Phillis, and help from Mitchell & Ness. But that’s not the best/most insane thing. From the Phillies:
At 6:30 p.m., stop by the Phillies Retro Party in Ashburn Alley and have some fun with characters from the era. Mini Kiss – a KISS tribute band – will perform behind Section 147 at 6:00 p.m. and later sign autographs at McFadden’s.
MINI KISS:
KISS were on top of the world in 1976. They released ALIVE towards the end of 1975 and were still riding high. Tomorrow, to celebrate that year, a little people version of KISS will play on a walkway at the stadium of a .500 baseball team. I’m sure there’s a comment on the futility of life in there somewhere, on parody vs. tribute, on iconography, but I can’t find it. I’m just amazed. If the Phils win, Mini KISS has to play every game now. That’s the rule.
