Here's How Jon Dorenbos Did His Magic Trick on "America's Got Talent"
DID THAT BLOW YOUR MIND? No, because that video is boring and didn’t really tell you much? Let me help. Again, here’s Dorenbos’ trick:

It’s incredible, but magic is much more about the personality of the person doing it – SHOWMANSHIP – than the trick itself. In the hands of a less charming person, that trick would just be okay. Dorenbos owns it. But what exactly did he do?
The “forced card” that the top video mentions is explained a bit here:
And here. Basically, through hand-work and suggestion, the magician makes their mark pick the card they want them to pick, not the other way around, by forcing a specific card as their selection, usually by slight of hand. It’s an illusion of free will. It’s a very basic element of magicianary.
As for the drawing and book part of it (the part that’s actually kinda freaky): it’s basically just a prop you can buy for $165.
Seeing behind the curtain is a lot less fun, but it also makes your appreciate how great of a showman Dorenbos really is. If only we could reveal how he keeps landing impossibly hot blondes.
