Rumor Check: Was Sean Hannity Booed out of Wawa?

Sometimes you want a rumor to be true so badly that you ignore any logic to the contrary. That’s how I feel about Sean Hannity getting booed out of the Wawa on Broad and Walnut:

The idea of a stubborn rabble-rouser like Hannity getting heckled out of your favorite local convenience chain is great and a stereotypical “only in Philly” story. The Wawa is like an embassy. It’s where you know you can go if you need a quick snack, surcharge-free ATM, or if you aren’t gonna make it home in time for a poop. But was Hannity, the conservative talk show host, booed out of one last night?

There’s no evidence of booing that we can find, but Hannity WAS at a Wawa late last night. There’s proof of that:

The man who posted that picture doesn’t know about Hannity being booed into shame out of the goose, since he left right after Hannity walked in. A satirical account of the incident is floating around, but is so outlandish…

… that it can’t possibly be true.

Buzzkill Spike Eskin also makes a great point:

If anyone was going to boo Hannity out of the Wa, it’d be the 1:30 AM on a Tuesday crowd– half delegates, half civilians, some homeless, most drunk. But for now this is just a legend, a dream, a beautiful story.

It’s hard to believe anything as fact these days if there’s not video proof, since it’s so easy to capture. So if you do have video or picture evidence of Hannity getting booed out of Wawa, send it our way (we will pay for it if it’s exclusive). And if you see Hannity in another local establishment, feel free to boo him out of that one and send us video of that.
