Watch and Marvel at Ben Simmons' Remarkable Passing Ability
I don’t even need to remark on the passing ability on display in this video from the Sixers-Lakers game– it speaks for itself. But it’s worth pointing out that the book on Ben Simmons is that he can’t shoot, and teams are already giving him obscene cushion, almost daring him to take the J. If these screenshots were from a Flyers game at the Wells Fargo Center everyone would be screaming shooooooooot:
Incredibly, both of these were scoring plays. On the first one (20 seconds) Simmons drove and handed off to Luwawu for an easy dunk. He got to the rim himself on the second (28 seconds). He’ll have to develop a jump shot to prevent this sort of hedging from defenders, but if and when he does, his remarkable passing and impressive ability to get to the rim will be that much better.
