Lane Johnson's Looming PED Suspension Is About to Create Internal Strife
And now we have the internal strife portion of Lane Johnson’s impending PEDs suspension:
Lane Johnson said he found out about failed test on 7/30. Said he told "guys upstairs" that day. Doug Pederson said he found out last week.

Lane Johnson tested in June, found there was a problem day of 1st padded practice. Said he told no one but "upstairs," wonders how it leaked

Pederson told media he found out like "we all did." So either:
1) Lane lying
2) Doug is lying
3) #Eagles found out, didn't tell Doug— Eliot Shorr-Parks (@EliotShorrParks) August 15, 2016
Few things:
- My reading of Les’ Tweet is that – SURPRISE! – Lane Johnson is passive aggressively blaming someone else for something– in this case leaking the news that he faced a 10-game suspension, which is odd because last week it seemed no traditional Eagles sources could confirm the news.
- It’s shitty if the Eagles did leak it. Understandable, but still shitty, and creates a negative perception about the way they treat their players. This feels like a Howie move.
- If Lane Johnson is telling the truth, either Doug Pederson is flat-out lying about when he found out (I don’t think Doug is smart enough to lie about it) or the Eagles didn’t bother telling the head coach, which would be sort of telling about just how much respect Pederson commands within the organization– unless there’s a HIPAA consideration here, which I’m not so sure there would be since Lane volunteered the information to the team.
Let the finger-pointing commence!
