Earlier today, the Eagles ran their weekly #FanFriday giveaway of game tickets (run early this week because of the Eagles’ Thursday game). Twitter user @YungYle won. Congrats YungYle. He must be so shocked and surprised and oh wait he’s won the same contest a dozen times:

eagles-1

eagles-2

eagles-3

eagles-4

eagles-5

eagles-6

eagles-7

eagles-8

eagles-9

eagles-10

eagles-11

eagles-12

The pattern was first noticed by Mark Magowan, and he’s going full Alex Jones on this (after the jump):

But it’s not just Eagles games YungYle has won tickets to. In October, he won two tickets to see Wicked on Broadway courtesy of TiqIQ (now TicketIQ), a longtime partner of this site. He’s also won tickets to an Eagles game through Verizon in a contest that appears to have been separate from the Eagles’ weekly giveaways.

And this doesn’t look great:

We’ve run giveaways with both NRG Energy and TiqIQ before and usually we’d get 500 or so entries within about 48 hours. Sometimes, I would go through and pick a winner at random, and other times we used a random number generator to pick the winner. Needless to say, the odds of winning once aren’t good, twice is astronomical, and any more than that is almost statistically impossible (Fun Fact: Going back through his tweets, YungYle once entered our contest. He didn’t win). Obviously, he’s lucky. In the Fan Friday contests, however, it seems that if a fan wants to win, they actually have to go find Swoop at a certain location, making winning an achievement of effort and not luck:

Still, the odds of being in the general vicinity of Swoop – even if most of the locations are in and around Center City – on a weekly basis is highly unlikely. And then there are the Mychal Kendricks, Verizon, and Wicked contests. It’s possible a serial contest hound could brute force his way into winning those. But the fact that he consistently seems to know where Swoop is going to be and tweets about his Eagles contact, makes you wonder if someone is tipping him off ahead of time. Never mind the fact that no one from the Eagles or Swoop has seemed to raise any suspicions.

I reached out to YungYle for a statement, and he did not respond. He did just tweet this though:

UPDATE: And the Eagles respond, kinda:

UPDATE 2: And the man himself spoke to Dan Levy and swore it’s all on the up and up.
