Steve Mason’s Stadium Series Mask is Fine

We’re a very excitable fanbase. Every Sixers win gives us reason to raise our fucking felines, and put the Phillies in throwback uniforms once a year and we lose our shit. It’s just how we are, even about the smallest things. To wit: Steve Mason’s stadium series mask, shown in here a now deleted Tweet from (@dflanns):

It’s a very clean design. Nice and crisp. And it’s well painted. But it’s black. And it’s plain. Not every special occasion goalie mask needs to be lavish and overdone and busy, but this one is just fine. It’s the mask that comes default on your goalie in NHL 17.

People are freaking out over it, which is alright, because we need things to get excited about. But every time Paint Zoo puts out a new #MaseMask, Twitter breathlessly fawns all over it like it’s the second coming of Patrick Roy’s Avalanche mask:

I’m convinced Franny at PZ could draw a turd on the mask and people would say it’s his best yet. In this case, it’s black… with a Flyers logo… and Steve Mason’s name. Got it.
