The Flyers Alumni May Play Against Vladimir Putin
Remember this?
Now, imagine Putin gets put on his ass by garbage-ass Terry Carkner, who then mysteriously disappears and is never heard from again? That might actually happen, as the Flyers alumni are heading to Russia to play in some goodwill games. Players such as Joe Watson, Brad Marsh, Terry Carkner, Jeff Chychrun, Shjon Podein, Lindsay Carson, and Al Secord will play three games in Russia, including one in Red Square on February 20th, and word is that Putin “wants to play.” Putin’s schedule isn’t known – outside of iMessages to Trump – until 24 hours prior to any event.
The last time the Flyers played a team full of Russians it didn’t go well for the Soviets. The Flyers beat the so-called Red Army Team at the Spectrum in 1976, and things ended with Ed Snider cucking the Soviets by threatening not to pay them if they didn’t return to the ice after Ed Van Impe nearly decapitated Valeri Kharlamov:

The series this month is likely to be slower – if it’s possible to be slower than old-timey hockey – but if Putin actually takes the ice, some old Flyer could change the course of human history with one stiff bodycheck. We’d never see them again.
Kyle: Chase Watson, who’s the son of Jimmy and nephew of Joe, will also play. He went to my high school for two years, and I’d be honored to have a fellow Malvern Prep-er change global hegemony with one well-timed cross check. No but seriously I’m so hard for this and will try to find a stream if Putin plays.
