Eagles-Redskins Week 1 Live Thread
We’ve made it.
Another year of Eagles football begins this afternoon, as the Birds are kinda in Washington, D.C. (Landover) to take on the Redskins in an NFC East battle.
Doug Pederson has said everyone on the active roster is healthy for today’s game. Meanwhile for the Redskins, linebacker Ryan Anderson (stinger/neck), center Spencer Long (knee), and wide receiver Jamison Crowder (hip) are listed as questionable for today’s matchup. Crowder and Long are expected to play. Meanwhile, Ian Rapoport is reporting tight end Jordan Reed is dealing with a fractured big toe.
We’ll continually update this post as the game goes along. And check out our predictions to see how good (or probably bad) we guessed this game.
4:10 – The Eagles win. They’re 1-0.
FINAL: The @Eagles start the 2017 season 1-0! #FlyEaglesFly https://t.co/WXdhejjn8V

4:00 – Brandon Graham forces Kirk Cousins to fumble and Fletcher Cox scoops and scores. Somehow, it looked like it would be an incomplete forward pass, but a call went our way for once.

Wentz finds Jeffery for the two-point conversion and the Eagles lead 30-17. Reason for that is because Sturgis hobbled off the field after the previous kickoff.
3:53 – After flirting with the idea of going for it on 4th and 1 deep in Washington territory, Doug Pederson calls a timeout and kicks a field goal (even if the math says to go for it). Sturgis nails it from 27 and the Eagles lead 22-17. 1:59 left.
3:32 – Kirk Cousins throws too high for Crowder and Jalen Mills picks it off. Wag that finger young man, that’s his first career interception.

3:30 – Hoping it’s just a bathroom break.
Torrey Smith just ran inside.
— Tim McManus (@Tim_McManus) September 10, 2017
Probably was. He got out there shortly after.
3:23 – After three quarters, the Eagles somehow have a 19-17 lead.
3:16 – Dustin Hopkins makes a 33-yard field goal to trim the Eagles lead to 19-17. 2:06 left in the third quarter.
3:12 – Destiny Vaeao is questionable to return.
Injury Update: DT Destiny Vaeao (wrist) is questionable to return.

Ryan Grant: 2 receptions for 44 yards
Terrelle Pryor: 2 receptions for 24 yards on four targets
2:35 – Caleb Sturgis nails a 50-yard field goal to give the Eagles a 16-14 lead at the half. They’ll also have the ball to start the third.
2:34 – Let’s make things worse!
Injury Update: T Jason Peters (groin) is questionable to return.
— Philadelphia Eagles (@Eagles) September 10, 2017
Stefen Wisniewski is in for Peters.
2:23 – Touchdown Redskins. Cousins finds Chris Thompson, who gets by three broken tackles for the 29-yard score. 14-13 Washington with 1:17 left in the first half.
6? 7? 8? More?
Let’s count how many defenders Chris Thompson made miss on this CRAZY @redskins TD. #HTTR https://t.co/iHnmjE4nnG

1:39 – After a weird 3rd and 1 call to run the ball in shotgun formation, the Eagles punt, Crowder muffs the punt, and Trey Burton recovers. Just how Doug drew it up! Dave Fipp is back.
https://twitter.com/LONG_DRIVE/status/906935445044580354
1:32 – Terrelle Pryor dropped an easy touchdown pass right after the fumble recovery. Beat Ronald Darby.
https://twitter.com/LONG_DRIVE/status/906933626708873217
1:28 – I have no clue what the Eagles just did, but Wentz overthrew a screen pass to Agholor and the Redskins recovered the ball. Why? Could Michael Lombardi be right after all?
Not the time to get cute, that's on Doug pic.twitter.com/WfJ5e0O6SB
