This website is known for, among many other things, its RADIO WARS posts over the last few years. Recently, they have been scant, but things have picked back up as a lot is happening over at 97.5 The Fanatic. Most notably, the station is looking for a new Program Director after letting Matt Nahigian go last week. Rumors swirled that Assistant PD Jason Myrtetus could be tapped for the position. However, Kyle mentioned on the podcast that Myrtetus is more likely to get an on-air role, while the PD position is posted online, perhaps as an EOE thing.

Here’s the job description, from sportsradiopd.com:

97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia has an opening and is searching for its next superstar Program Director. The PD will oversee all on-air elements with a strong focus on digital sales and revenue growth. The Fanatic’s new Program Director will be expected to be accessible and sales-friendly. This candidate must be strategic and analytical but also creative and possess a passion to win. You’ll be in charge of one of America’s Best Sports Stations in America’s most passionate sports market!

Don’t forget, that the station also has a posted opening for a Midday host, to presumably join Harry Mayes.

A lot of change is on the horizon for The Fanatic, which means more RADIO WARS. This excites me greatly.

J.P. Crawford is heading to the majors.

Crawford’s arrival with the big league club will give fans something to watch, other than Hoskins, of course. He saved Timothy Reilly’s fandom, and presumably yours as well.

As Houston deals with the aftermath of Harvey, Florida and the east coast brace for Irma, a now CAT-5 hurricane that may impact Sunday’s Dolphins-Buccaneers game. A decision must be made by Tuesday, reportedly:

The NFL is considering moving the Dolphins-Bucs opener in Miami to another site or earlier this week because of the hurricane, a person familiar with the discussions said Monday. The person confirmed the discussions to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the league and teams aren’t talking publicly about the options.

Switching the game to Thursday or Friday is being considered, the person said, because Irma could threaten South Florida over the weekend. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. EDT Sunday.
