The Eagles are back on the road as they make their first trip out to Los Angeles this season to take on the winless Chargers.

Injury wise, Ronald Darby, Fletcher Cox, Corey Graham, Jaylen Watkins, and Destiny Vaeao are all out, while Jordan Hicks and Rodney McLeod are questionable. The Eagles promoted defensive tackle Justin Hamilton to the 53-man roster yesterday.

For the Chargers, Mike Williams is out after suffering a herniated disc back in May, while running back Melvin Gordon, tight end Sean McGrath, tackle Joe Barksdale, and linebacker Hayes Pullard are all questionable. Everyone but Williams were full participants at practice on Friday.

We’ll continually update this post as the game goes along. And check out our predictions to see how good (or probably bad) we guessed this game.

7:12 – Final from Los Angeles/Philadelphia West, the Eagles escape with a 26-24 win over the Chargers. Eagles host Arizona next Sunday.

7:10 – Blount gets a first down, Chargers are out of timeouts, and the Eagles will run out the clock. It was scary, but the Eagles will be 3-1.

7:06 – We’re at the two minute warning. Birds still lead 26-24. They’re driving into Charger territory at the LA 35. Chargers have one timeout left.

6:56 – Safe to say the fourth quarters aren’t very friendly to the Eagles:

6:54 – Touchdown Chargers. After a review, Philip Rivers finds Hunter Henry for a four-yard score. Eagles lead 26-24 with 6:44 left in the game. This is scary.

6:42 – Touchdown Eagles. That’s huge. Wendell Smallwood dives in from three yards out and the Eagles lead 26-17 with 9:14 to go.

6:37 – Carson gets sacked on 3rd and Goal, but a Chargers penalty gives the Eagles another chance.

6:34 – LeGarrette Blount went off with a 68-yard run. Down at the Charger three yard line. That’s a new career-long.

6:29 – Touchdown Chargers. Austin Ekeler runs for a 35-yard score, the first of his NFL career. Plenty of questionable calls and no-calls on that drive. Eagles lead 19-17 with 13:42 left in the game.

6:23 – End of the third quarter: Eagles lead 19-10 with the Chargers driving around midfield.

6:21 – How many are Eagle fans?

6:17 – Jake Elliott makes a 47-yard field goal to give the Eagles a 19-10 lead with 55 seconds left in the third quarter.

6:10 – Big pass to Ertz:

6:03 – The Eagles finally get a third down stop. But Philip Rivers wanted to go for it on fourth down, while the Chargers had other plans. Rivers got mad and a delay of game penalty was called.

5:58 – Good explanation on why the Eagles’ defense isn’t strong with short and medium passes:

5:52 – Eagles go three-and-out on their first drive. They ran on 3rd and 8. I don’t get that, but oh well. Chargers almost turned the ball over on the punt. Let’s see how the defense responds.

5:49 – Second half is underway. Carson Wentz and company start at their own 25.

5:40 – Notable halftime stats

For the Eagles:

Carson Wentz: 10 of 19 for 154 yards, 1 TD
LeGarrette Blount: 7 carries for 43 yards, 1 reception for 20 yards
Wendell Smallwood: 4 carries for 22 yards, 4 receptions for 45 yards
Nelson Agholor: 2 receptions for 50 yards
Alshon Jeffery: 1 reception for 8 yards, 1 TD

For the Chargers:

Philip Rivers: 10 of 19 for 217 yards, 1 TD
Melvin Gordon: 6 carries for 20 yards, 1 reception for 7 yards
Keenan Allen: 3 receptions for 80 yards
Tyrell Williams: 3 receptions for 88 yards, 1 TD

5:34 – Jalen Mills may have gotten away with pass interference on third down deep in Eagles territory. Younghoe Koo makes a 28-yard field goal as time expires. Eagles lead the Chargers 16-10 at the half.

5:30 – Rasul Douglas got beat badly by Keenan Allen. Chargers in Eagles territory with under 30 seconds left in the half. That might be a big matchup in the second half if the Chargers want to get back in this game.

5:29 – Doug Pederson decides to punt the ball on 4th and 1 near midfield. I don’t know what the math is on that, but I think that may have been a good call.

5:18 – Joe Barksdale down on the field. He was questionable to play entering the game today.

5:15 – This is kind of surprising:

5:13 – Jake Elliott’s NFL MVP campaign continues. This time, he makes a 53-yard field goal. It’s now 16-7 Eagles with 4:08 left in the half.

5:05 – Touchdown Chargers. Philip Rivers finds Tyrell Williams for a 75-yard bomb on the first play of their drive. He beat Rasul Douglas and Rodney McLeod on that route. 13-7 Eagles with 6:32 to go in the first half.

5:01 – Jake Elliott makes a 40-yard field goal with 6:42 to go. Eagles lead 13-0.

4:54 – Jatavis Brown down for the Chargers. They’re really thin at linebacker right now. Can’t afford to lose him.

4:49 – Chance Warmack replaces Wisniewski at left guard. Why.

4:41 – After one quarter, the Eagles lead the Chargers 10-0. Eagles dominating on both sides of the ball, and the crowd is helping them as well.

4:39 – Jake Elliott makes a 45-yard field goal. Eagles lead 10-0 with five seconds left in the quarter.

4:38 – Wentz has great vision:

4:28 – Another stop by the Eagles defense. Rivers throwing it to either nobody or to Patrick Robinson that time around.

4:21 – Wentz finds Alshon Jeffery for an eight-yard touchdown pass. 7-0 Eagles with eight minutes left in the opening quarter.

Dallas also lost and another “Cowboys suck” chant begins.

4:19 – Big throw by Carson Wentz to Nelson Agholor for 36 yards and it’s goal-to-go for the Birds.

4:12 – Chris Long forces a fumble on the Chargers’ first drive, and Derek Barnett picks it up. The pass rush has been very strong so far in this game. Eagles take over at their own 32.

4:07 – Underway in LA. Chargers will start at their own 25.

4:05 – Los Angeles won the toss and elects to receive. Eagles will kick off.

3:59 – The Chargers are getting booed at their own stadium:

There’s also “Cowboys Suck” chants. I can’t believe this. I love this.

3:51 – The Chargers have to tarp seats for home games.

3:19 – After a strong outing last week in place of original game starter Chance Warmack, Stefen Wisniewski will start at left guard. Beau Allen replaces Fletcher Cox, and Rasul Douglas is opposite of Jalen Mills:

3:14 – This is an Eagles home game:

2:45 – Expect a ton of Eagle fans on the road:

2:30 – An interesting healthy scratch as Isaac Seumalo is sitting. He lost his starting left tackle job to Chance Warmack and Stefen Wisniewski last week.
