My jury is still out on Doug Pederson in many regards. He appears to be a great schemer whose players genuinely seem to like him. Thus far, however, he still hasn’t had to coach his way to a win through impactful in-game decisions. Until he shows that he can do that – he’s shown multiple times that he might not be able to – I’m not going all-in.

HOWEVER, the Charlie Manuel vibe is coming on strong (beginning to tingle, too) and it’s getting harder to deny that Doug is, dare I say, likable.

NFL.com posted a video of Pederson mic’d up on Sunday. Step over the jump with me.

Few things:

  1. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t know who number 47 is. Not sure I do, either.
  2. “Be blessed” is a phrase that feels odd coming out of Pederson’s mouth.
  3. His convo with John Lynch about how great Carson Wentz is is fun.
  4. I always hesitate to trust a guy who is hesitant to drop an F bomb. “Shoot”, “dang it” and “frickin'” all popped up before a “shit.” That actually concerns me a little bit.
  5. The Carson Wentz pep talk subtly blaming the line and running back.
  6. He joked about “overcoming your coaches” in the end. Self-depracating, I like.

Go Birds.
