Jon Ritchie Returns to 94 WIP

After two days off, WIP midday co-host Jon Ritchie was back on the air Tuesday afternoon.

Ritchie was arrested Thursday night after the Eagles’ Super Bowl parade, charged with DUI and simple assault following what he today confirmed was a car accident. He didn’t share many details but spoke briefly about the incident during the show’s open:

According to the court docket, Ritchie was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police then released on his own recognizance (ROR), which is when there’s no bail payment and you agree to return to court when ordered. In this case, that’s March 14th, a status hearing at Philadelphia Municipal Court.

You can see the entire docket after the jump:

  1. Hey kinker…….
Make sure you rush this to US, People and The Hollywood Reporter.
They needs to know this useless tripe also.

      1. Well it is a blog where the only thing that matter is the number of clicks and the revenue those
        clicks bring in.
I’m just trying to help Kyle make some money so he can quit selling them fake shirts.

        1. You can pull some of the plugs out of kinker’s hair when he’s shitfaced…..and use em.
Save some cash and not have to work as many shifts packing fake shirts
          in boxes.

  2. Hearing Aton Shander in place to replace Ritchie. Spike Eskin saw Shander’s dong and hired him immediately. Impressive package.

      1. I don’t think that would lead to an assault charge. It has to be premeditated. He could have made a threat or he could have tried to big time the cop and the cop, in response, threw this on top. It would be interesting to see what his blood alcohol level was.

  3. any guys out there interested in a little car play later tonite? I’ll be parked behind the wawa in Blackwood if interested. I’m not gay. And no names please. And don’t touch my hair because I recently underwent a restorative procedure.

  4. Spike is super uptight about it – allowed NO discussion of it whatsoever! When one caller opened by merely saying, “Welcome back, Jon,” his call was immediately disconnected and Joey started off on a different line of yapping. Really Embarrassing way to handle what could have been a Teachable Moment. Once an Eskin, always an Eskin.

    1. I think Jon’s lawyer had to assure the station that most likely charges will be dropped as long as he agrees to some program for first timers. If he is not able to drive for six months or a year it has no bearing to the radio show. Nor will it ever be discussed on air even after the hearing.

  5. Hey, the Burger King or Spike’s dad got a woman killed and WIP fined over a million dollars for libeling a defense counsel for Allen Iverson and he is still around

  6. Well, I didn’t hear it but Mike has basically become more like Eskin used to be over the last couple of years. 97.5 needs to have a back up plan for when he says something that gets him fired. Have a feeling they are planning a format change anyway.
