The promotion of Mike Groh to offensive coordinator left the Eagles with the need for a wide receivers coach, a vacancy that will reportedly be filled by North Carolina’s Gunter Brewer.

That’s according to UNC Scout page “Inside Carolina,” citing multiple sources in their story.

Brewer spent the last four years as Carolina’s co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach under Larry Fedora. He coached Mack Hollins during his time in Chapel Hill and also worked with Justin Blackmon and Dez Bryant during a five-year stay at Oklahoma State. Both were Biletnikoff finalists. But the best receiver he worked with in college was, no doubt, Randy Moss, during a four-year stint at Marshall in the late 90s.

Brewer was also UNC’s recruiting coordinator and his coaching resume dates back to 1986.

He looks like a high-energy and demonstrative dude, judging from a few video clips where the Mississippi native is coaching ’em up:

Catch, turn, throw.

Catch, turn, throw.

Looks like my kind of guy. Let’s get him in here.

Edit: He’s here –
