Ben McAdoo didn’t last long in New York.

Once linked to the Eagles head coaching job, the ex-Giant offensive coordinator ended up taking over for Tom Coughlin in the Meadowlands, went 11-5 in his first season, then was fired along with his general manager when the G-Men started out 2-10 this past year.

The breaking point was when McAdoo actually had the guts to bench quarterback Eli Manning, which offended a bunch of lame-ass Giant fans who worship at the altar of the washed up, 37-year-old interception machine.

Anyway, McAdoo recently spoke with the New York Post and believes that his former team will rebound from a 3-13 season to win the NFC East:

“I think they’re gonna win the division,” McAdoo told The Post, his first public comments since he was fired, along with general manager Jerry Reese, Dec. 4, with four games remaining in the season — the first time in 41 years the Giants dismissed a head coach in-season.

“I think Philly, how much success has Philly had?” McAdoo said. “I think they’re gonna have a hard time handling success. Dallas, I like their offensive line, but how long have we been saying that? Their defense, they got a bunch of young guys playing DB, Sean Lee is banged up a lot, and their D-line, they got a bunch of guys getting in trouble all the time. And Washington is Washington, right?”

Well, he’s right about Washington. Washington is Washington. And Dallas will find a way to underperform and disappoint.

Still, McAdoo does have a point about the Eagles. Nobody really knows how Doug Pederson’s squad will deal with the success. The “underdog” card has flown the coop and this is a team that’s gonna have to come out and play like a champ, knowing that they’re the NFL’s gold standard in 2018.

As for the Giants, they’ve patched up the offensive line a bit and added Penn State dynamo Saquon Barkley. They were crippled by injuries last season. They’re gonna be much better than 3-13 this time around. But is the combination of Pat Shurmur and Eli Manning gonna get the job done?

If Ben McAdoo thinks the Giants are gonna win the NFC East, he’s got another thing comin’.
