I have no idea, but this just popped up on Twitter:
Chase Utley will hold a press conference today, the Dodgers announce. He never does that.

Chase Utley will be available to the #Dodgers media this afternoon at Dodger Stadium. I’m not sure why. I hope it’s not a retirement announcement.

Chase Utley will be holding a press conference this afternoon at Dodger Stadium. You can surmise the topic.

It could be anything, but Utley is 39 years old and nearing the end of his career. He’s hitting .231 this season with a .644 OPS and plays a peripheral role on a 51-42, 1st place Dodgers team.
The presser is scheduled for 3:15 Pacific, so 6:15 our time. We’ll see what happens.
If this IS a retirement press conference for Chase Utley, it’s been one Hell of a career. pic.twitter.com/9thAFAlMrY

If Chase Utley is announcing his retirement today, he was hit by pitch in final atbat
So fitting. He put everything… including his body, on the line.
Chase was hit by pitch 173 times with Phillies, by far most in team history#BeBold

Phils should hire him as an announcer
I’m not sure if he’s retiring, but I’d love to have him give me a lil stinkfinger.
Good luck, Brother Chase. Now you can rest with Brother Jimmy and Brother Ryan and Brother Jason and Brother Shane and Brother Carlos. Hopefully soon Brother Cole will join your club. But now let’s get to what we do best, fellows, and talk sports…OH BROTHER
When will Brutha Scott get outchurr way?
Is when he is begging for money for his pet foundation. Has zero allegiance to Philly.
