Entering the eighth inning of tonight’s game against the Diamondbacks, the Phillies offense was once again struggling to score. They had managed only a single run against Zack Greinke over seven innings and appeared headed for yet another frustrating offensive performance. But then Cesar Hernandez came to the plate against former Phillies reliever Jake Diekman. Hilarity ensued:

Ah, yes. The Little League home run. That’s one way to get things going.

Diekman, who the Phillies reportedly kicked the tires on prior to the trade deadline last month, then proceeded to allow the following four hitters to reach base. Asdrubal Cabrera delivered the big blow with a two-run double to make it 4-0. Will the Phillies score again? Possibly! Will they hold on to win the game? I have absolutely no idea! But things look goodish…for now.
