Derek Holland is the latest professional athlete to apologize for crossing the line, if that’s what he did here.

Holland appeared on the show “Intentional Talk” the other day, which airs on both ESPN and the MLB Network. He was joined by Giants massage therapist Haro Ogawa, who pretended to be his “hype man” during a bit in which Holland used a heavy Asian accent:

The clip picked up steam on social media via people who were offended and/or annoyed, leading to statements from both Holland and the Giants.

The team:

“The Giants organization does not condone that type of behavior in any way. We spoke to Derek regarding his interview yesterday and he completely understands the severity of the situation and he apologizes if it offended anyone.”

And here’s what Holland said:

Alright. Guy took ownership and apologized.

Carry on.
