Nick Foles is Your Week One Starter

Surprise!
After Sunday’s media slapfight, Doug Pederson, who didn’t have to tell anyone anything, announced today that Nick Foles will start Thursday against the Falcons:
Head coach Doug Pederson just told me that Nick Foles will start at QB on Thursday vs Atlanta. He is on way to announce to Media now.

Pederson spoke to reporters unannounced on Monday, prior to scheduled pressers with coordinators Mike Groh and Jim Schwartz.
“Alright, this won’t take long,” Pederson started. “After consideration, and everything, and about the football team, and this decision, Nick Foles is the starter Week 1. My press conference will be tomorrow [Tuesday, September 4]. I’ll answer questions at that time. But I wanted you to hear it from me. It is about the football team and the best interest of the 53. And Nick Foles will be my starter Week 1. Thank you.”
Also new is this report from Field Yates:
Source: the Eagles reworked the contract of S Malcolm Jenkins, creating $6.148M in 2018 cap space. Jenkins earns the same amount of money, the team gets some cap flexibility.
