Eagles Trade for Golden Tate

Schefter says the Birds sent Detroit a third round pick:

Hmm.. okay move I think. Tate is 30 years old and has 44 catches for 517 yards and three touchdowns this year.

Tate is excellent in the slot as a YAC type of guy, which I think overlaps with Nelson Agholor’s skill set. I wonder if they instead move Agholor to the outside in an effort to get him, Tate, and Alshon Jeffery on the field together. You’ve also got Zach Ertz who can move around and Dallas Goedert and Jordan Matthews, who had big games against Jacksonville.

The Eagles really needed a deep threat, but Tate is a receiver who can definitely pick up chunk yards. He’s on the final year of a five-year contract and you can see his season numbers after the jump:

  1. A Third Round pick for a rental.

Who was it who said Howie Roseman is a Fantasy Football GM?

The Golden Ginger is going to have a hard time padding his stats in a couple of years when the team is depleted, in cap hell and has no homegrown talent on the roster.

    1. Don’t think so. So type of front runner chick. She doesn’t really know sports. Just rambles on about nonsense. Usually says the same thing over and over.

She probably knows more about sundresses and lipstick.

  2. Horrible trade. A 3rd rounder for a one and done 30 year old that does exactly what Angry Agoholor does

  3. We didn’t need another slot receiver. We have a good one on the roster already (Agholor). We needed a receiver to stretch the field and make defenses honor the deep threat which would make Agholor and Ertz more effective underneath (See Torrey Smith last year). This trade is confusing to say the least.

  4. I THOUGHT TODAY WAS GOING TO SUCK AFTER HEARING WING BOWL WAS CANCELLED BUT THIS MAKES UP FOR IT.

GREAT MOVE. NOW WE NEED HOWIE TO GET BELL AND TRADE FOR A TACKLE AND A CORNER BACK.

    WERE ALL IN TO REPEAT1!!!

  5. is a great pickup. He goes after the balk andis a legit return TD threat as opposed to whoever is doing it now and looks to get tackled.
