Marcus Smith is now a Redskin

Washington signed him for the season finale:

Howie Roseman drafted the defensive end with the 26th pick in the 2014 NFL draft.

He went on to play 37 games for the Birds while registering 0 starts, 4 sacks, 18 tackles, and 4 quarterback hits. Smith was waived last summer and signed with the Seahawks, where he fared a little bit better, logging 2 forced fumbles, 2.5 sacks, 14 tackles, and 5 QB hits in 14 games.

Smith was released in August and hasn’t played a game since, but he’ll get a chance against the Eagles to close out the 2018 campaign.

His selection was considered a reach at the time, and he’ll unfortunately go down as one of the biggest busts in Philly draft history.

  1. Amazing stuff Kinker! Didn’t even have to leave the house. Just cut + paste + attempt at sarcasm and voila! What a service you provide. Any soccer or Union news nobody cares about?

    1. I just had an epiphany!

I criticize you for “copy + paste + attempt at sarcasm”….but I just realized that every single one of my cleverly concocted comments to your articles follow this same exact model. I’m a complete hack…I’ll never live up to the legendary trolls of my generation like @realDonaldTrump. I’m sorry for the stress I’ve caused you…I will be retiring as a full time troll and will look for real purpose in my miserable life.

      Sincerely,
      Kevin Kutpaist

  2. Chip Kelly sucked as a coach but he did draft Lane Johnson and Ertz and we don’t win the Super Bowl without them.

Howie drafted Marcus Smith… it was his Brodrick Bunkley and Danny Watkins moment.

*drops facts and knowledge about the author implicating regular viewership of said author*

“No one reads your stuff or cares about what you say”

    …thanks for playing.

  4. this was a Howie pick. he got cute trying to trade back in the round and still come away with their targeted player but got caught when someone picked him unexpectedly. so without a plan B, they took the guy that Howie was targeting as a diamond in the rough in Round 2. Chip didn’t help the situation with his antagonistic environment, but this one is still on Howie for choking under pressure.

  5. That draft made me sick. They stood pat while saints grabbed brandin cooks, fat 🐷 Andy took dee ford and gb took ha ha. Everybody knew that loser Marcus smith would be a bust . He was projected to go in the 3rd round .

  6. Really good post, Kinker. I don’t care what the commenters say, I don’t care if this information is readily available on a variety of different outlets and not that important to begin with. Not essential. Just a good post and some hashtag content in this sleepy time between Christmas and New Year’s.
