Investor Jeff pointed out the other night that he’s surprised by how much time Kendall Jenner spends in Philadelphia.

It’s a good observation.

She was cheering on Ben Simmons and the Sixers Monday night at the Wells Fargo Center, braving temperatures that I’m pretty sure reached single digits. And by “braving,” I mean she was probably dropped off at the back door in a private car.

Still, this is a Southern California super model and Hollywood celebrity we’re talking about, someone who could have flown back to Los Angeles on a whim, where the temperature today is… lemme check… 67 degrees and sunny.

But nah, she’s in Philly. She’s always in Philly. She’s sitting next to Simmons’ mom, cheering on her guy, eating at our restaurants, hanging out in cold and crappy Philadelphia in January. She even seems to actually care who wins the game.

Not sure about you, but I think this looks like a woman who wants to see your team, your town, your 76ers get that W:

Is Kendall one of us? Maybe she’s tougher than we thought.

She’s certainly a good luck charm. You might remember that petition that was going around a while back, the one that demanded her permanent expulsion from the Wells Fargo Center after the Cavaliers loss and spawned a ridiculous piece of myopic drivel at Philly.com. Our sports fans aren’t exactly Hollywood types, and some are even skeptical of California natives, as evidenced by some of the ridiculous prior assertions that World Series MVP Cole Hamels was “soft” because he was from San Diego. Remember that crap from 2009? I do.

But the fact of the matter is that the Sixers are 10-2 with Kendall Jenner in attendance. That statistic courtesy of Jamie Lynch, aka “The Bro,” over at 97.5 the Fanatic:

Yep. That’s the fact, Jack.

The Sixers have an 83.3 winning percentage when Kendall is in town, and I could really just end the story right there.

However, another thing to think about is this, which was pointed out by Twitter user Leonard:

Bingo.

We’re talking about a Hollywood ultra-celebrity. She’s got Paparazzi following her all around Los Angeles and she would be absolutely mobbed in New York City. I’m not sure anybody other than Hugh E. Dillon actually gives a shit what she does in Philadelphia, and while you see the occasional tabloid garbage pop up here and there, it’s rather benign, isn’t it? Are people shoving cameras in the faces of Bendall while they do whatever they do? There certainly aren’t TMZ jabroni mobs rolling around Philly.

For example, there was a story about Kendall and Ben going ice skating back in December, complete with a 30 second video clip. Everybody else at the rink just leaves them alone:

Truly, we had it backwards this entire time. Not only is Kendall Jenner statistically good for the Sixers, she may actually be one of us. She might be a hard working, blue collar, lunch-pail carrying Philadelphia type of woman.
