Eytan Shander is Going National

Eytan Shander is about to have the weirdest shift in the history of broadcasting.

Well, actually, that’s not true. Traffic anchor Bob Kelly used to work a wicked split-shift at CBS 3, but Shander is now taking on a new 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. gig to go along with his new 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. South Jersey gig with Harry Mayes, which debuts on April 1st.

Overnights are a bitch. I would know.

I did 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. for 18 months way back in the day, then I would do 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. shifts at channel 3 because the news never stops! Gotta get that traffic and weather on TV, plus all of the car accidents and other random stories, like the city of Philadelphia losing track of $30 million dollars.

More from Eytan after the jump:

Here’s the blurb from All Access:

Veteran PHILADELPHIA and national sports talker EYTAN SHANDER is joining SB NATION RADIO for a new overnight show.  “THE SECOND LEVEL WITH EYTAN SHANDER” will debut MARCH 11th with charter affiliates including ENTERCOM Sports WEEI-F/BOSTON, CUMULUS Sports KTCK-A-F (THE TICKET)/DALLAS, GOW MEDIA Sports KFNC (ESPN 97.5)/HOUSTON, and HUBBARD Sports KDUS-A (NBC SPORTS RADIO AM 1060)/PHOENIX.

It’s quite a hustle, but good on Eytan for going for it. Get that man some caffeine.

Why is there an annoying pop up in my lower right hand corner asking for my email? Come on, Kink. Enough is enough.

Is Eytan Shander still convinced Marcus Mariota is going to be the Eagles quarterback?
